The 9-Hole
What's going on, guys? My name is Ian Miller and I'm going to be teaming up with Josh and the JS9innings brand on some stuff moving forward that I think you'll really enjoy.
I was an unrecruited/undersized Outfielder in High School that could run really fast. I bet on myself and chose to walk-on to Wagner College, a D1 school in New York. The rest is history. 14th round by the Mariners in 2013 - grinded my bean bag off and finally got my chance in 2019 with the Twins. Got one final taste during Covid with the Cubs.
I got to play in a Cubs vs. White Sox game - IN Wrigley - and there wasn't 1 fan in the stands.. Wild.
My entire career - from Little League to Big Leagues - I've been in the 9-Hole.
That might mean a whole bunch of different things to all of you. But let me tell you what it means to me. If you're a real baseball fan, you know what player hits in the 9-Hole. The last spot in the order is reserved for the undervalued, underappreciated & underdog-type baseball player who is always needing to prove his worth and outwork his opponent.
There are an absurdly LOW amount of High School athletes that make it to Division 1 Baseball. There's an even lower % number on the amount that get drafted - and the amount of players that make it to the TOP are obviously minute.
Being able to maximize EVERYTHING I had (with some luck) allowed me to accomplish my ONE goal in life of making it to the Major Leagues. I started the 9-Hole Podcast in hopes of providing players LIKE I WAS with the information I WISH I HAD when I was their age.
JS9innings & I are going to provide you guys with quality baseball content, unique insights, and some HOT takes moving forward.
STAY TUNED!
