2021 Playoffs Are Here!

The first full season since 2019 has officially come to an end. Tampa Bay came in first in the AL East with 95 wins and San Francisco won the NL west with 107 wins setting a new franchise record for wins in a season. The rivalry of the Red Sox and Yankees is absolutely epic for the first wild card game and the Cards vs Dodgers is also a rivalry game dating back to In 1946, the Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers tied for the National League title and met in a best-of-three playoff, which the Cardinals took in two games. These upcoming playoff matchups are all expected to be very close games and we also get to see many free agents do whatever it takes to win and be at their absolute best.

Dodger Field

The Dodgers have multiple free agents coming available for the 2022 season, so we might as well start with Cy Young nominee Max Scherzer, who was acquired by the dodgers right before the trade deadline. Max has recently passed 3,000 strikeouts in his career and will most likely go much further passed that, not to mention his base salary for 2021 is over 27 million so we’ll have to wait and see what the Dodgers can afford while having to decide on which other of their many free agents they’d like to hold onto going into 2022, including Corey Seager and Clayton Kershaw.

Needless to say, Kershaw is a veteran of the Dodger staff and hasn’t carried as much weight as he used to, but he’s still has a lot to offer even just for a few innings. Corey has been having quite a breakout season after spending most of it on the injured list and being a free agent means he’ll be getting offers from other teams. Will the Dodgers be able to afford to keep Seager? Will they even need to after acquiring Trea Turner?

2021 Playoff Picture

Freddy Freeman and Carlos Correa are among many other must watch players. Everyone knows that all free agents push themselves to be better than ever, especially toward the end of the year. All in all, we have some very exciting players and games to see as it comes down to the end of 2021 MLB baseball. Cheers to some epic playoffs!
